A key aspect of CRG’s business is utilizing our materials and manufacturing expertise and capabilities to supply high-quality custom molded products for automotive and industrial applications. These products are engineered and manufactured to each customer’s requirements and meet exacting tolerances and specifications.

What types of applications does CRG service with custom molded parts?

CRG supplies functional and decorative parts that are molded from a variety of materials, including elastomers and plastics. These parts service a wide range of applications in the automotive and industrial markets. All the molded parts we supply conform to customer requirements, specifications, and project/program schedules. Examples of molded products we can supply include:

  • Seals and gaskets

  • Connectors

  • Rollers

  • Trim panel clips

  • Caps

  • Grommets

  • Bumpers

  • Pads

  • Stoppers

  • NVH parts

What materials does CRG use to supply custom molded parts for automotive and industrial applications?

CRG uses an array of elastomers and plastics to supply custom molded parts. Materials we commonly use include the following:

  • Elastomers, including EPDM, NBR, SBR, Silicones, FDA-grade and more. For specialized applications requiring the use of heat- and chemical-resistant elastomers, we use specialty compounds such as Viton®, Vamac®, and others.

  • Plastics, including TPO’s (Thermoplastic Polyolefins), TPE’s (Thermoplastic Elastomers), as well as TPV’s (Thermoplastic Vulcanizates) such as Santoprene®.

What molding processes are used by CRG to supply custom molded parts for automotive and industrial applications?

Molded parts supplied by CRG are usually produced by one of three molding processes:

  • Injection molding

  • Blow molding

  • Compression molding

  • Transfer molding

The choice of which molding process to use in a particular project is driven by a careful consideration of a number of variables, including application, material, quality level, manufacturability, and cost targets. In every project, we work closely with our customer to ensure that the optimal process is chosen that meets the requirements for mold and process capability, quality, and manufacturability, as well as customer-specified objectives and cost requirements.

How will CRG work with me to supply custom molded parts for automotive and industrial applications?

We work with customers early in a project to assist with part design and material selection. Parts and components are developed to meet all quality standards according to the production part approval process (PPAP). In the production phase of a project, CRG uses proven processes while adhering to recognized quality standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, to ensure reliable and consistent part quality. In every project, we maintain our commitment to 100 percent on-time delivery, whether utilizing demand-pull replenishment or JIT scheduling.

For the supply of custom molded parts for automotive applications, CRG has a proven capability in supplying molded parts which meet ASTM D2000 line call-outs, as well as the material specifications of major OEM’s, including those of General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Mazda, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz. In those cases where a new specification is required, we work with our supply chain partners to develop an appropriate solution that meets or exceeds all requirements.
