On April 5-7, Canada Rubber Group Inc. (CRGI) participated in the Gasketing/Converting Expo industry event in Orlando, Florida and hosted by the Gasket Fabricators Association (GFA).

Showcasing more than 100 exhibitors, the GFA’s Gasketing/Converting Expo is an annual event that attracts some of the top industry professionals and provides attendees with a unique and valuable chance to meet with both new and existing suppliers. The GFA is a trade association to companies that provide custom-fabricated components and services like gaskets, tapes, adhesives, polymers, die-cutting, laminating, converting, and more.

At this year’s Expo, CRGI president Gord Sirrs, together with Chuck Keeley of CGR Products, GFA president Ken Stober and legal counsel Robert J. Weill, helped present a breakout session highlighting how GFA members could create a solid business interruption/disaster recovery plan for their businesses. Disaster recovery is an important topic for gasket producers, many of whom have made significant investments in materials and technology.

“While just about everyone would prefer to avoid thinking about it, the risk of incurring a business interruption due to a disaster or catastrophe is nonetheless a real one for many owners and managers,” said Sirrs. “Our committee within the GFA has been actively working to put together a disaster recovery program that GFA members can use and take advantage of for their own businesses.”

As an active GFA member, CRGI regularly attends the Gasketing/Converting Expo.  “As an active GFA member and gasket producer, CRGI always looks forward to attending the annual Expo,” notes Sirrs. “Through the Expo, we are able to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, see the latest manufacturing technologies that are available, and participate in learning and information workshops.”
